Hey guys,

I've been using Grammarly in the past but I've uninstalled it because I've heard they keep logs about everything you type and other stuff.

Do you trust it nowdays or have any good alternatives Paid or Free?

I loved Grammarly because it looked so clean and they had really good A.I. but I care more about my privacy. I don't want to have my passwords or whatever I type to be logged in their servers.

I too have been wondering the same thing. Trying to look for a privacy focused version. The translation options on privacytools.io would lead me to believe there has to be some kind of service out there.

As I know everything you type (even sensitive information such as names, bank details, password, etc) goes to their server and you can't disable anything like that.

Is there any other alternative that does something like grammarly? I've heard about languagetool but I'm not sure about the privacy, but they seem to be open-source.

What are your guys thoughts?

Hi Bugus, LanguageTool seems to be the best open source alternative to Grammarly out there. I've just had a look in their privacy policy: https://languagetool.org/legal/privacy

If you use our online editor on https://languagetool.org/editor or the editor functionality of our desktop apps, your texts are stored on our server. The texts are deleted when you move them to the recycle bin and then delete them there.

Another good thing about LanguageTool is the fact that they have a premium pricing model. You might wanna dig deeper in their privacy policy if data gets sold etc.

I really loved LanguageTool and I saw many companies use it because they seem to " not-stock " and respect privacy if you do some things.

Do you know anything for Translating? I know DeePL is way better than Google Translate but never saw anything privacy-oriented.
