I'd like to talk about a service offered by DuckDuckGo that I've been really enjoying while it was in beta period.

They have made the Email Protection beta version available to everyone. We can sign up for a free @duck.com email address by using any of their Mac, iOS, or Android apps or Browser Extensions. It was developed with security and privacy as the top priorities.
We get a personal Duck address like you@duck.com, as well as an unlimited number of unique private Duck addresses. When these Duck addresses get an email, their built-in security mechanism removes the trackers included in pixels and URLs, and the email is routed to the Forwarding Address. According to them, the entire process occurs in RAM, and nothing about the emails is saved except for statics such as Forwarding Address, number of Duck addresses created by the user, and this is the least amount of data required for their services to function properly.
We can also deactivate the disposable Duck addresses directly from the email message.

Their Privacy Policy is concise and easy to read.

To correct a point, in fact, I asked the DuckDuckGo staff, private Duck addresses are limited, about a few thousand, but can be considered unlimited

I set up an account the other day and am loving it so far. The (near) infinite aliases allows me to make each account I use have a different email, which is wonderful for keeping my accounts separate. No longer can they be linked due to having the same email!

One thing that annoys me is that these email addresses don't seem to be "deleted", only "deactivated", and there isn't a dedicated page for managing duck addresses. In addition to that, every forwarded email generates a report link, and while DuckDuckGo claims they don't store email content, they store metadata, which still makes me suspicious.

After reading your message, I get the impression that you have paranoid tendencies.

How are you going to maintain and arrange hundreds of random numeric and alphabetic email addresses when they are disposable? I personally coordinate my email addresses with a password manager, and I have no issues at all. Although the service is currently in beta phase, improvements should come soon.
The effective operation of the service is all but impossible without the metadata you are referring to; and some people are interested in learning which trackers are being used to target them; nothing about you personally is linked to those report URLs.
The only information they have about you is your forwarding address, so if you wish to keep that a secret as well, you might consider creating a fresh email account for your dubious activities.
