a) Your friend who is a passionate gamer wants to improve his privacy while torrenting. Brave Browser and a random VPN provider that allows torrenting on some locations will do.
b) Another friend of yours is stuck in russia and wants to leak some vital information. The Tor browser becomes a must have, circumventing censorship will become a challange at this point. Complete different threat model.
